La vie des moulins

The studio has designed a family of installations positioned between the two Continua galleries, Les Moulins and Sainte-Marie. Capable of harboring a scent and a narrative linked to the site and its history, these installations weave and mark out a walk taken by visitors between these two locations. Inspired by ordinary beacons found on the gallery site, these signage elements are transformed into olfactory and historical beacons. Four of these beacons are composed of an olfactory object and a historical narrative, while the other six are simply signposts on the promenade. To make these beacons a real moment of pause on the promenade, they are accompanied by a use. These uses take the form of wooden surfaces at different heights. Each of these uses is adapted to its site and underlines its specificity: a stage for a clearing, a bench for a path, a table for an open space, a roof for an illuminated area. Conceived on a single system, these four surfaces generate a catalog of harmonious, contextual and coherent forms.
