Description
Located in Paris’s 11th arrondissement, the project creates an open-plan space structured by a mezzanine. The project stems from a simple idea: not to partition, but to filter. Instead of multiplying walls, a large structure of orange lacquered steel and perforated sheet metal organizes the space as an autonomous “architectural object.” Verticality becomes the compositional tool. The perforations in the sheet metal act as a veil, both transparent and protective, while allowing light to pass through. The color—a vibrant orange—creates a domestic feel against the white background and light floor, allowing the whole space to breathe. This cross-shaped structure defines a grid, creating thresholds: the bedroom, the living room, and the kitchen. The more intimate volume is delineated by a series of curtains, while the living area remains open and bright.
